Job Summary

This internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in financial operations under the guidance of experienced finance professionals. The Finance Intern will report to the Receivable Accountant and support various finance-related tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare payment vouchers and maintain accurate records.
• Reconcile supplier balances and ensure alignment with statements.
• Assist in filing statutory deductions and ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
• Support petty cash management and ensure proper transaction accounting.
• Assist in bank reconciliations and ensure accurate transaction records.
• Support payables management, ensuring timely postings and payments.
• Participate in budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Assist in project costing and expense tracking.
• Ensure proper documentation and filing of financial records for audits.
• Process employee expense requisitions and claims as per company policies.
• Contribute to improving financial processes and efficiency through data analysis.
• Adhere to the company’s finance policies and procedures.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Finance, Accounting, or CPA Part II.
• 3-6 months of relevant experience is preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
• Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic knowledge of Kenyan taxation laws (PAYE, VAT, NSSF, NHIF, Withholding Tax).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software is an added advantage.
