Role summary
To provide high-quality patient care in the ICU and HDU by managing critically ill patients, ensuring compliance with clinical standards, and contribute to sustainability of the unit.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage critically ill patients, providing timely and accurate interventions
- Administer medications, treatments, and therapies as prescribed by physicians
- Provide advanced nursing care and provide post-mortem care for patients in critical or coronary care units;
- Track life support equipment like heart monitors;
- Monitor patients’ fluid intake and output to detect emerging problems such as fluid and electrolyte imbalances;
Qualifications
- Be a Holder of a Higher National Diploma in Paediatrics Critical Care Nursing from a recognized institution;
- Minimum Two (2) years working experience as a critical/intensive care nurse;
- Valid practicing license from Nursing Council of Kenya;
- Current Registration as a critical / intensive care nurse;
- Proficiency in computer applications;
- Committed to work in a multidisciplinary team;
